Intel NUC8 with Windows
On Intel NUC8 systems with pre-installed Windows, the license key is stored in the firmware/BIOS. You can reinstall Windows 10 or Windows 11 at any time using Microsoft installation media. Activation is straightforward. If the hard drive is not recognized during installation, first set the SATA mode in the BIOS to AHCI. Then boot from the Windows installation media and delete all partitions on the hard drive. After that, switch from AHCI to Intel RST in the BIOS and you can then install Windows normally.
